Yet another poop question ...

I've always been afraid to increase the enzyme dosage on my own. I spoke to the nurse this morning, who'll be speaking with the doctor later today, and she suspects that we'll up the dosage to at least one capsule per meal. I had also asked about an anti-acid, and she said that although most of their patients are taking them, they like to put that off as long as possible - something about the anti-acids killing off some of the good bacterias. She suggested yogurt, which Max does eat (but not on a daily basis).

I was just venting to my husband how overwhelming this disease can be ... I never thought twice about my daughters poop ... never worried if she finished a meal (knew she'd make up the calories later) ... never counted coughs ...

The poop issue drove me nuts early on, because we were told to increase enzymes if his poop looked greasy, bulky, extremely smelly, foamy -- none of which it really was. He'd poop a lot -- sometimes I'd go thru 3 diaper changes while changing him.

So I'd ask "what does normal poop LOOK like" and I'd get a mysterious "you'll know". Er, no I don't, which is why I'm asking. And the bright grass green, well formed poop he got when on pregistimil that the nurse said was perfect -- didn't look like ANY poop I'd ever seen before <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Sounds like he probably needs an enzyme increase.
