Anne-

I hope it all works out well for you. I think taking Hannah in sounds like best idea though you may have to squak a bit to get it.

good job for being aggressive, I am sure you will feel like a new woman, always better to be proactive!

Anne,

Good luck - as a veteran of home IVs I think you might be surprised how user friendly they are now - especially if you have support at home. Like Tara orals don't do it for me anymore. Hopefully once you're shown the ropes with the IVs your stay will be very short.

Don't worry the picc line is really no big deal. If you are getting it at Strong ask for Ruthie on the IV team if she is still there, she is the best one at getting picc's in. hope you are feeling better soon!

I believe what I said was that she should consider all options and be honest with herself in what she needs to do to take a break. I did not say she should admit without Hannah. As we all know a week of serious cf care can really make a difference in our health. A week of separation would be tough but pros/cons need to be weighed. I'm always a believer in considering even routes you don't feel comfortable taking if for nothing other than to further rule them out. I'd rather think of options then have my doctor make suggestions but that's possibly due to how I like to feel in control of my cf.

Let's not forget that IVs are our doctors last straw to help our lungs.

I was admitted for 5 days when Isaac was 7 mo. Yes, it was difficult even though I got to see my little man each day and nurse him too. In hindsight though we were all glad we did it and Isaac did just fine with me gone from him.

I believe they understand more than we think they do.
