I forgot to mention she has had mucus issues since birth

she was born at 37 weeks and stayed a few days in the nicu because she had thick mucus and needed oxygen.
since then, we used up ALOT of saline bottles trying to liquify the mucus and she has had countless doctor visits for those reasons...she was hospitalized for bronchiolitis for the first time at 5 months

can asthma and allergies be present at birth?

I don't know if it sounds like asthma to me... my daughter was DX with asthma at maybe 6mo? She had a fairly constant dry cough... never coughted up anything. As soon as the pulmonologist saw her he said it was an asthma cough not a cf cough... put her on flovent and it stopped almost right away. My daughter has also had a cough for the past few weeks, along with a runny nose. I'm leaning more toward allergies... that's kind of what it sounds like your daughter might have too.
Good luck with the sweat test!

the more I think of it, the more it doesn't look like asthma....mabye allergies but she rarely has a runny nose and when it does it is thick and greenish and doesn't last very long...a few hours mabye (TMI...sorry)

she still is coughing (loose productive) even though we are giving her more flovent and ventolin
