My son also had a severe reaction to zosyn-high fevers and rash. He was a lot sicker from that than what he was in for. It took them several days to figure it out- only when he mentioned that I am allergic to a couple of antibiotics to a doctor who had been called in the middle of night did they put two and two together.

I'm on Zosyn right now. It's been a tremendously helpful antibiotic for me throughout my life and I've never had any instances of side-effects. Zosyn and Chloremphenical (sp) are two drugs that are particularly powerful to beating back infections in my case. Of course, different drugs for different folks and all that jazz. Good luck with your treatment.

Hello,

I went and seen my CF doctor today and found out that I will be on IVs until the 22nd of August. My lung function is 42% which is not bad but my left lung is not responding the way he would like it to. I also lost 4 pounds since I last say him. I also found out that I had some stomach acid in my sputum culture so I am going to be seeing a specialist about what we need to do to stop that. I am also on another stomach medication called Reglan before each meal and at bedtime along with Prevacid, Tums before each meal, and Prilosec.

I go back the 20th to see him to see how I am doing. I pray that by that time I will be back to my old self again. I will keep all of you informed on how things go.

No side effects so far from the Zosyn. Thank You all for letting me know your experiences with this drug.
