I used an E Cig today, I'm a bit worried

E-Cigs are a vapor-based product. Therefore, it is not harmful to your lungs. The taste and nicotine are probably what you tasted/experienced. You are fine.

Dog - Yes or No? Please advise

I love my dog, and honestly I think she has had a positive impact on my life. I definitely exercise more because of her, and the unconditional love isn't bad either. That said, if I was sicker I imagine it could be hard for me to care for her very well. But if you live with someone, I don't...

    Smoking Pot/RSO Oil

Throwing this out there. Vaporizing marijuana will get the anti-inflammatory stuff to your lungs without the bed stuff like tar that can cause occlusion and cancer.

    Vertex

The two trials I found were the ones for 661 and 770 and another for 809 and 770. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01531673?term=vertex&cond=%22Cystic+Fibrosis%22&rank=1 http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01225211?term=vertex&cond=%22Cystic+Fibrosis%22&rank=5

    Meropenem & Ceftazidime

My joints and back always are killing me when I'm on antibiotics. I have no idea why though. (I use meropenem and imipenem on and off)

    Xylosoxidan

Although I said it before, Ticarcillin aka Timentin worked great for me for many years. They could just never outright kill it. Supposedly there is a good synergistic effect between penicillin antibiotics and aminoglycosides. (aka Zosyn/Timentin and Tobramycin)

    Xylosoxidan

For me the cocktail I use when I'm not too sick is Cipro + Doxycycline. IVs are Meropenem and Tobramycin. Inhaled antibiotics are Cayston alternating with TOBI. Why does it seem like USC is kicking people off the TX list for some common bugs. I know achromobacter isn't too common, but someone...

    Xylosoxidan

I have Achromobacter (Alcalignes xylosoxidans). Interestingly enough, all the sensitivities that they run show that it is resistant. But we have tried combo medications with better results. I am allergic to Zosyn and Fortaz and built up resistance to Ticarcillin. Becasue of this I am now taking...

Have you ever received PT in a hospital?

I get it from a PT when I'm in the hospital. Side note: most of them suck at it because they have to do so many and their arms get tired.

Looking for a CF Center in Northern NJ or NYC

I used to go to Columbia Presbyterian when I lived in NY.

    Voice

This isn't really a problem, but more of a question/intersting observation. I have always heard that people deepen thier voice by yelling, coughing, etc. So wouldn't you think that people with CF would have really deep voices? I was wondering about this after getting mistaken for a woman on the...
