Jasey is 6yo and doesn't do breathing treatments. Our cf specialist said there's no reason right now because she doesn't have lung involvement. I don't know if this is right or wrong but as far her lung function goes, she is good. It's her BMI and possible CFRD that we are concerned about.
Saveferris, thanks for all your help! So once she starts insulin we should see a difference in her weight gain? At least that will be one less thing to worry about. Do you know how long it takes to see the difference?
Momto2, thanks for the advice. She is very active. She is constantly running, playing, jumping, swimming biking ect... No need for more exercise. My concern about the diet is she is FTT. She hasn't gained any weight in the past 4 months. We struggle to get her to gain then to keep it on...
I checked her 1.5 hrs after lunch and it was 140.
That makes me worried about the OGTT!! It seems like she always falls into the grey area!!
I'm going to try OGTT at home. I will have to find something similar to glucose drink. Our pediatrician is concerned about the high levels and wants...
They've been good! Endocrinologist called and said she needs to have the oral glucose tolerance test to check for cfrd. She said her levels weren't bad enough that she needs to come in right away. She has the test on Friday.
Have you had this test? If so what were your results?
Thanks for...
I already posted in adult forum. Endocrinologist has had us checking my dd blood sugar levels since yesterday. She had one slightly high yesterday two hrs after breakfast 132 and one high today two hrs after lunch 164. I had her play outside for a little while and took it again it was 147...
Ive been testing my dd blood glucose levels since yesterday. The highest yesterday was 132 two hrs after breakfast and the highest so far today is 164 two hrs after lunch. I'm scared. Any advice?
At bedtime 103
Before breakfast 90
Two hrs after breakfast 132 - I know this one is a little high according to a chart I found for cfrd in 5 - 12 yo. Two hrs after meal should be between 80 - 120
Any thoughts yet?
I'm getting ready to start the process of checking my daughters blood sugars for a few days. They want to make sure she isn't cfrd. We have to test at 3am, first thing before breakfast, 2hrs after a meal. For a few days.
Good point! She did come out of it but was very tired and irritable!! Her blood glucose level today two hrs after eating French toast and syrup was 77. This seems a little low to me.
Advair has saved me!! It took about two weeks to notice the difference. Main difference for me was no more over-whelming fatigue!! I'm on the highest dose.
Jasey's blood glucose level two hrs after breakfast today was 77. She ate French toast and syrup. I thought this was a little low considering what she ate. If it was 77 after, I wonder what it was before breakfast? I can't handle another morning where I can't wake her up. Her pediatrician...
I posted on adult forum too. I'm afraid my dd has this. She scared the crap out of us this week. One morning we couldn't wake her up and almost called squad. She finally made a noise and then started coming out of it. Her fasting blood glucose level a few yrs ago was 50. Which I've always...
