I'm not at Columbia, but at my center I notice a pretty big difference between the handheld spirometers they use in the clinic and the larger machine, which they use on bronch days. It's very annoying. I just trust my home spiro, as long as that is consistent, I'm not too worried. I'm up to...

Very well written Lindsey. I can relate to the "conservation me" and now the driven, goal oriented person I have become. It's not that I didn't have goals pre-tx, but they were different, I was trying to SURVIVE...and that was my focus. Now I feel like there are so many options available to me...

Not much pain for me either. It was pretty minimal. Most of the time in the hospital I was on darvocet. Pre-tx, I was most worried about pain though. I was really suprised how well things went in terms of pain management. Couldn't have gone much better.

Just wanted to say your completing the marathon one year post transplant was an awesome accomplishment. While I don't have any immediate plans to run a marathon, i would like to do a 5 or 10k in the next year. Congratulations, and hope you keep running.
