    Second Child??

jessykt: Do I feel guilty about having a child born with cystic fibrosis? Guilty enough not to have a second one. Do I wish that my daughter had never been born? Thats a tough question to answer but I would say probably not. She brings alot of joy into my life. Do I discuss the mortality...

    Second Child??

jsjohnson: How are you coming to this conclusion that your second child has a 50/50 chance of having cf? This would only be true if either you or your spouse already had cystic fibrosis and the other one was just a carrier. Then all of your children would have a 50% chance of getting cf. The...

Alternatives for treating Pseudo in my littlest one!

I think its kind of strange that he would order 3 months of continuous tobi. Unless he's trying an early eradication method they usually like to cycle the tobi one month on one month off to prevent resistance. I personally don't think tobi is that effective at treating pseudo.

    Second Child??

What you guys are talking about doing is like knowingly giving someone AIDs. Forcing them to endure a fatal disease for your own benefit. I think that some of you parents on here with young cf children are oblivious to the cruelty of this disease in the advanced stages. Discarding a clump of...

Alternatives for treating Pseudo in my littlest one!

They just added cipro to our daughter's tobi regimen. She takes it the same month as the tobi because its important to have periods of time when the pseudo isn't being treated with antibiotics. Its just a pill you take twice daily so you don't have to worry about increased neb time. I'll try to...

How good is 104% in the blowing test?

Its not uncommon for FEV1 scores to be over 100% but I think the amount of lung function you gained back is really remarkable. Just keep doing what you're doing and you may even be able to go higher than that.

    Second Child??

My daughter who has cf really wants a brother or sister but I refuse to risk having another child born with cf. Even if we could make sure the second child was healthy then I would fear the resentment my daughter would feel towards it for having to be the sick one. At the same time I would worry...

    Second Child??

So, because you always pictured yourself as having two kids you would risk bringing another child into this world to suffer from this dreadful disease. Sounds pretty selfish to me.

eradicating MRSA in cf...This is interesting...show your doc

MRSA is very deadly to people with CF or other compromising diseases if not properly treated. It is also potentially dangerous for very young and old people who are otherwise healthy.

Do you know any information on phase2Trial

The current rumor circulating the sewing circles is that 809 is getting scratched because it reacts poorly with 770 at higher doses and that vx 661 is actually looking more promising at this point. A little birdie even told me that it may be approved by the FDA as soon as 2016.
