    Dosing enzyme by fat intake

I learned during my last hospital stay that how often we need to do a #2 is a good indicator of whether or not we take enough enzymes. If you need to go to the bathroom every time you eat a meal, then you probably need more enzymes. They tried to up my intake to 5 but then I had a "poop is a...

You mean this? http://forum.cysticfibrosis.com/threads/38591-Coughing-infection-cycle?p=918099&viewfull=1#post918099 I actually agree with his intervention. You are an asshole. You jump on people, make rude, condescending and unwarranted comments very often and I actually think you're not...

Gross, embarrassing things that come with CF!

Erm... use a cheap plastic bucket/trash can and put water in it. You won't have to clean up anything. Throw it away when gunk builds up on its sides and/or let it sit with water and a drop of bleach overnight once in a while.

Gross, embarrassing things that come with CF!

In high school, I was on the bus drinking a bottle of Boost once and OH! A wild cough appeared! I spat out a mouthful of Boost everywhere on the seat in front of me. Luckily no one was there. LOL but many people saw it and were wondering wtf happened. "I coughed."

    Hemoptysis

This is inaccurate. They don't seal the artery shut. They shoot some kind of polymer on its wall to "reduce its size" (obstructing part of it) to reduce the blood flow to the lungs. What happens is that the lung arteries grow supersized due to the abnormally high flow of blood needed in our...

Discussing PICC.... What Will Surgical Consult Be Like?

I wanted to do my IV course through a normal IV catheter the last time, but for some reason my veins decided to not cooperate anymore. So I had to go with the PICC. To answer your question 2005CFmom, I'd rather have many stings during a 14 days IV course than to further lose sensitivity in 2...

If I got a medical marijuana license and made edibles, would I have to take pills?

Yes. THC binds with fat and that's how it's extracted from the plant. The other way is with alcohol. It's called "tincture" and requires 90%+ pure alcohol. If you want to know more about it, google "green dragon".

Need Help, Once again, I wasn't ready for this

I had the same done at 3 because I was snoring. Clear runny nose does NOT mean that there is infection. I there was infection, it would be colored. I always have a runny nose, especially in winter or when my heart rate goes up. It's always clear and that's not infection.

How long does it take you to get sick?

I usually have 3 to 7 days to know whether I will be able to overcome an exacerbation without antibiotics. It depends on how quick and how severe the onset is. Like sometimes, I feel that I'm getting slowly sicker over several days and then it peaks after 5 to 7 days. When the onset is this...

    Dosing enzyme by fat intake

They collect a stool sample every time I go to the hospital to see if my dosage is right. I've had the same dosage ever since I was 6 (24 now) so it doesn't depend on weight. It depends on how much you eat and how much of a pancreatic function you have left. Since my dosage never changed since...
