Ya know what? If someone shows concern, and that obvious through body language and tone, I'm not all that picky about what words come out to express it. I dont always say the right thing to people, even though I mean well, so I dont expect that from others. I usually base my response on the...
Samantha, I think you'd get a better response if you asked to interview people over the phone. Your questions are quite broad, one could type for a loooooooooooooong time trying to answer them. Or you could come up with a survey, ask people to fill it out. That is a little less daunting.

Havoc. The idea for HTS has been around for a long time I think. My doc had me on a version of it in the early 1980's. When was the surfer idea/connection first published? Maybe she was just ahead of her time. : )
Yeah, the studies were done later than the 80's. I just feel that HTS is...

I do not have this problem with my CF clinic. If I did, I would say something immediately. So you injure their pride. Big deal. It's YOUR life they are mucking about with. I also do not spend any time in hospitals. I pretty much refuse to at this point since they are walking cesspools...

Yep, I agree with that. Usually every winter I have to go on 1-2 courses or oral antibiotics. Havent been on IV stuff for 6 years, and before that, it was 3 years. I have always been insistent on only using IV treatments as a last resort, and NEVER as a long term or preventative solution...

I have always been a healthy normal weight as a teen and young adult until the CFRD. Then I gained 30 lbs. When I got sick, there is NO weight loss at all. I started exercising like crazy and totally changed my diet. Lost 35 lbs and my lung function increased about 20%. But now...

Our youngest daughter doesnt have CF, but she was somewhat failure to thrive around age 14 months (she had a choking issue w/solids and became food phobic to some degree) so we used to give her high fat baby formula made with full fat milk. It put weight on quickly.

Totally agree with starting the digestive enzymes YESTERDAY. I have never been in favor of preventative antibiotics in such a young child with no signs of infection. If you are questioning it, get a second opinion. I would strongly suggest educating yourself on CF-specific inhaled...

Hon, I hate to break it to you, but your grandson very likely has CF. He tests in the "very possible" range and has very typical symptoms for a youngling. I'd get a full genetic profile and get him to a CF clinic ASAP. I am very sorry to hear about your stepdaughter.

Heya ladybuggirl! Good to have you here! I'm 40, diagnosed with CF at 3 months of age. Been in and out of the hospital a lot until I hit 18 and then have done all my care at home. Thankfully I have a very supportive husband, we're coming up on our 23rd year together! I have two...
