    medic alert

Hi Leah, Yes, I have a medic alert. I've had it for ages, even though at first glance you wouldnt think my health would merit it. My reasoning was that when I was younger I rode/trained many horses every day, often alone and far from home. If I got injured, it was a form of ID that I...

    Wanting to conceive

It's your choice and your husbands, no one else. Sounds like you are in very good shape and a good candidate. Keep in mind that its not just the pregnancy, but parenting a baby/toddler can be completely exhausting. Although we adopted (my stats at the time were only slightly worse than...

    cfrd/impaired glucose tolerance

My blood sugars were consistently over 200, but I got the go-ahead to try to change things and keep watch. I was successful. My blood sugars dont spike above 150 or so now and I can keep them above 60 (they used to rebound down very low to seizure level for me). I do a combo of careful food...

    Not working, what to do?

Sue, you're not alone here. I was in a similar place 2 years ago. It really sucks. I felt so cut off from people too and so depressed about my future. I am so sorry. Some days it just seems like everything comes crashing down. Let us know how we can help you. *big hug* -sara

When to check blood sugar levels after meal

I used to check it 1 hour post eating for the spike, and 2 hours post eating for the reactive hypoglycemia. This was not while taking insulin. May be different if you are injecting.

    Not working, what to do?

I volunteer quite a bit. You could take classes. Write, especially about how your current situations feels to you. Might be very cathartic. Tutoring? Hobbies, part-time job, mentoring, a sport (that would be good for your lungs too). Walking. Are you artistic? Crafts?

    ****Need Advice****

I was on Symbicort a while ago, but it didnt seem to do much. Switched to Advair, it worked much better for me. You may be completely different, Symbicort may work better for you than Advair : ) I hope the financial stuff works out OK for you.
