    First meeting with Nutritionist

Umm, yeah, I'm with Incomudrox here. If you have a CF diagnosis and any GI issues, standard enzymes should be tried. Is this a CF clinic doc? I'm not totally clear regarding your issue. Are you majorly constipated or loose as a goose? (sorry, my mother's phrase......how these things...

    CF/bronchiectasis moms

Gunelle, you seem to have a very good grip on reality, and I mean that as major compliment. I think thats half the battle, going in with knowledge and a plan. With our first daughter I worked part time, which was fine. My FEV was around 80% and she was not a newborn, so the whole first year...

Yes, I've experienced this too. Theophiline added into the mix just makes everything worse too. Sorry you're going through this.

    CFRD and hypoglycemia

Hiya, I had a very similar problem (highs between 200-300), and my low spikes would cause me to have seizures. What solved the problem for me was eating at least 2 servings of protein for breakfast and very little carbs or fruit. Certainly no fruit juice, only high fiber lower sugar fruits...

Cool article about Cystic Fibrosis and "Sickboy"

Cool article about Cystic Fibrosis and I LOVE the line- "We do have more control over our CF than we hold ourselves accountable for. My lung function has gone up 10 percent since I started my running blog." So true. I wish someone had smacked me when I was 30 and told me to get off my...

    arthritis anyone??

For a while they thought I had early onset arthritis, but turned out to be gout. Whose to say your daughter doesnt have the Df508 and another unknown mutation? With a positive sweat test and the symptoms, I'd say she probably does have two CF genes.

    Sleep Issues

heya Ben, Sleep has been critical to my health since I was a teen. Through college and 3 graduate schools I've never pulled an all-nighter- dont think I could. I have always slept on a 10pm-6am schedule. Varying it does not agree with me. Having an infant was incredibly hard, my sleep...

    Shortness of breath with Bactrim

Hey there. Bactrim can cause pretty nasty stomach-related side effects (I always have a a huge increase in my acid reflux) and it can also cause SOB and changes in your pulse. These are not good side effects.....you probably want to tell your doc about it ASAP, you may be sensitive to the...

    nervous about my health

Iamqueen...I have not had a transplant, but what my doc told me and what I have read says that at around 30% FEV is when to start thinking about it. And that is after recent "aggressive therapy", so I would assume post-hospitalization that does not raise an FEV above 30%. I'm sorry to hear...
