what are your vitamin D levels

Caroline, You are so right. I am going to fill up my week-long pillbox with three Citracal per day, especially now that winter is coming. I need to get more aggressive. Prior to my kids going back to school, I was slacking on all my meds. It took me God knows how long to realize my...

what are your vitamin D levels

29 or 31, I can't remember which. I take two extra strength Citracal a day (500 IU total). My dr said this was fine. I don't have CF, but I am aware this is an issue for respiratory health--period. I should probably lower my caffeine intake as I know that has an influence on calcium...

    Curcumin supplement and article

Christina, Here is an older thread in which Nightwriter explains her doctor's take on turmeric supplementation. http://forums.cysticfibrosis.com/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=56178&highlight_key=y I remembered last night that she'd taken supplements and written about her experience.

    Curcumin supplement and article

I can't help you on the supplements, but I can give you ideas for how to eat cumin and turmeric :-) I grew up eating a lot of Middle Eastern food because of my mom's Greek background and her Lebanese and Egyptian BFs. Fresh tomatoes and basil with olive oil drizzle, ground cumin and salt...

    Amazing PFTs

Congrats! Big fan of exercise here too. I've had a huge quality of life improvement since taking it seriously 3+ years ago. Of course it is a combination, like you noted, of being okay enough to be able to exercise, and then making yourself do it. A standard I set for myself a while back was...

Azithromycin may predispose cystic fibrosis patients to mycobacterial infection??

Very interesting. Thanks for posting. I think someone once posted about indications that ibuprofen use is also liked to NTMs. Here is a bunch of text from an older study. The first paragraph notes that zithro in CFers might lead to zithro-resistant NTMs. So that's kinda tangential info to...

    Good FEV 1s and bronchiectasis

I'm sorry that bordatella infection threw you into a worse realm of bronch. I used to have discomfort/heaviness in my areas of bronchiectasis pretty much all the time, especially the lower left--even when my sputum was clear and no infection was raging. I would also get infections all the...
