Parents with CF: do you rent or own your home?

also, since I am on a talking spree.. I don't think a child could care less where they live in a house, a condo, an apartment or anything as long as they have their parents to love them.. they are good.

We have owned our home for 4 years now. Before we decided to have children we made sure that we had enough money saved to make sure the mortgage would get paid on his salary alone knowing I would not be returning to work for at least 2-3 years. I don't think my CF makes owning a home anymore difficult. My decision not to work for a few years was because I want to stay with my boys not because of my CF. My husband does most of the big jobs anyway (snowblowing, cleaning the gutters). I'm sure he wishes at times we had a condo so someone else would be doing that stuff! My boys are 14 months now and I love that there is so much room for them to run around inside now that's it's winter and I don't have to worry about them being too noisy. And our garage is filled with outdoor toys when the weather gets warmer. I'm so glad we have a house and yard especially because of the kids. We also had an air filtering system installed in our central air system. Since doing that my allergies have improved 90% and that led to one less time of the year I usually got sick. I definately love owning. Best of luck whatever you decide on.

Yep, I'm with some of the others....make sure you can make the house payments on your spouse's income only, incase that is the situation some day.

We don't own a house yet... due to medical bills and more. We hope to someday... when the time is right.
