Parents with CF: do you rent or own your home?

we own our home. i am a sahm so we went into our home with my husbands income supporting it only, and it will continue to be that way. we are savers, we put $ into a special fund for medical-lifestlye related costs.
if i get very sick we dip into that money to pay for help around the house, babysitting, meals, ect.
for the most part, i see no reason why someone w cf can't own their own home. if they prioritize and simplify their life as much as they can.
we get alot of joy from our home and its a part of our lives.

Hi there,

We bought our first house about a year ago and it has been the best experience!!! If you can do it, then do it. You realize very quickly there is a lot of work involved, but it's so worth it in the end. And whatever you can't do, you can always hire somebody or you can find someone who can help you. And honestly, all the work that's involved has really helped my health, in my opinion. I'm so darn busy with everything that I stay active and in shape because of it. There's always lawn work to do in the warm months and it's something I really enjoy. And it's nice because we have a great friend and neighbor who helps us out if we aren't able to do our outdoor work (i.e. on vacation or sickness). So, you can always adapt and other ways to get things done if you're not feeling up to it or are feeling overwhelmed. Just don't buy a money pit <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

We own a home thats mortgage could be completely covered by my husband's salary alone conservatively. We're really glad we have our own home. We have made some home improvements that were for cf or allergy related reasons which we couldn't do in rentals.
