Diane,
Just thought of this, are you on tobramycin? I was reading last week, while looking up its side effects, that it can cause balance issues and vertigo.

You know my husband had that problem. We went on vacation and there was a waterfall going into the swimming pool and we got under it and apparently some of the cold water got in his ear. A few days later when we were back home he was so dizzy and could not stop throwing up either, so we took him to the emergency room and they gave him something to make him stop puking and gave him an iv cause he was dehidrated, but they never did find out or know why he got this. The dizzines stayed with him for 3months I think he said and then it finally stopped, now he doesnt like to do anything that involves him getting dizzy, once in a while he will get a little dizzy but not much. He still thinks something is wrong and would like to do a cat scan to see if they see anything, but I guess he is not ready to do that. I told him about your condition and he wants me to keep him updated about it, expecially after you get your cat scan done.

Kevin,
I was on iv Tobramycin 2 weeks before this all started, and my Dr. said it wouldnt have taken 2 weeks for the dizziness to start. The first thing i was thinking when this all started was maybe its some of my medications. I started thinking of all my meds and anything to do with meds that i could think of. I have been all of them before except the Itraconozole ( sporanox). I have been on The itraconazole for 3 months now and mentioned it to my doctor and she said it wouldnt have taken 3 months for dizziness to start so she doesnt think thats the culprit. Now the DAY this started was the day my pharmacy gave me the wrong med. I was supposed to get Biaxin 500 mg. but the gave me Cipro 500 mg. by accident. Stupid me took it and after 3 days i called them and told them i was dizzy and asked if these were the right pills and sure enough they were not. Which meant since i was on Cipro 750 mg. Minocycline , and what was supposed to be Biaxin 500 mg. i was actually on Cipro 1250 mg. due to their mistake. I called my doctor and told her and she told me to stop the Cipro, but that was 2 weeks ago and she said if it were from that ( the cipro)the dizziness should have gone away by now. I dont know why but i am still leaning towards the Itraconazole since that is the only new medicine i am on, even though its been 3 months now. Of coarse it is possible that it could be something with my inner ear. Whats odd is, i had this once before 2 years ago, and it just went away after 2 weeks. It wasnt as bad as this time around though. I just pray that the 25 mg. of antivert works so i can go back to being normal again. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
