It has been 16 days since i started having dizziness and vertigo. Unfortunately it has gotten worse and way more annoying and worrisome. I have an appt. with a neurologist tomorrow and i am scared out of my wits that he will tell me something terrible is wrong. I started taking antivert yesterday that my Dr. prescribed to help with the dizziness. Most times when there is dizziness and vertigo it is because of an inner ear disturbance and if that is the case the antivert should help. So far, it hasnt helped which scares me. Please keep me in your prayers ( those who pray) that it isnt anything serious.

Kevin,
My sinus's arent too bad. I always have some small sinus issues but nothing major lately. But i have to say i would be THRILLED if that was the issue. Thanks for the info

OMG Diane, you must be so worried! I will certainly keep you in my prayers, and think positively about this. Worry is a lack of faith I read somewhere--so tell the Lord that you know He is in this, this will bring you closer to Him, and you will trust in Him. We are here with you, think this funny picture--when you walk into the doctor's office you will have a crowd of people hovering with you, all around you, we will turn when you do, sit when you do, and no one will know we are there--except you. Let us know, ok?

I wanted to respond because i had an awful time with dizziness and vertigo a couple years ago. It makes you feel miserable. I had mine for weeks, til they found the cause, it was an inner ear thing for me. What happened was that I had fallenreally hard(I didn't hit my head or anything) but it was a big enough fall to knock the little crystals in my ear loose and threw off my equilibrium. At first it was very acute, me throwing up, dizzy, seriously to the point of me thinking I was going to pass out. I actually had to crawl to the phone and call my husband from work to come home and take me to the ER. Eventually the vertigo settled down, and my primary doc figured it out. He would have prescribed medicaiton for me but I was breastfeeding my daughter with CF at the time so I refused to take anything. For me , the doc said my brain would eventually readjust to the vertigo and I would find a new equilibrium which I did. It took a long time. I too was very scared, I thought for sure i had brain cancer or something. they did even put me on a heart monitor to rule out a heart problem whcih they did. I couldn't even read the newspaper without gettting dizzy at the time. I would wake up from a dead sleep and feel nauseous and throw up. I no longer have the vertigo , anymore. But I don't ride rollercoaster or any spinning things. Every once in a while if I get a stuffy head cold I get slightly dizzy but nothing like it was before. Just can relate to how you feel and can empathize. Hope you feel better, some medications can cause vertigo as well.
