Hearing about the Detroit run is nostalgic, since Downriver Detroit is my home town!
However, things must've changed, because I don't recall Ford Field at all! Before I came to Japan, the Lions were playing at the Silver Dome!!
BTW, did the Tigers get a new field, too?

Fred..where Downriver are you from?? I grew up on Grosse Ile, lived in Detroit for 3 years and now am back in Trenton. That is crazy you're from downriver.
Ford Field is just about 3 years old..it is very very nice plus it is right downtown..next to Comerica Park where the Tigers now play. Tiger Stadium is still standing but there are talks of tearing it down..booo I loved that place. Comerica is really nice now..too bad the Tigers couldn't pull out the World Series win. Oh well, next year!
Yeah playing drums is a lot easier now since I've been running..my hard songs (stamina wise) aren't too bad anymore.

Emily you amaze me with all you do. I am glad to hear you did the 5K. I plan on doing a 5k this spring and then maybe a 10 K next Fall. I am nervous already. I haven't ran in a race since high school. That is 13 years ago. Good Luck with the 10k in November. I'll be cheering for you!

YAY!!! Congratulations on your AWESOME accomplishment! I want to run a 5k, but running on a treadmill is so different and haven't been able to train outside cause there are always "ozone days" here and also the temps have been too hot to run outside. Anyway, you inspire me!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!! (and your mom!!!)
How did you train for it? Any tips if I run on a treadmill usually? Is there any way to prepare if you usually run on a treadmill? I know outside is WAY tougher!
