What?!?! Mel, I can't believe it. How did I miss that you were on IVs continuously for 4 months?!?!? I feel terrible I didn't know this and offer you more support. Grrrrr.....</end quote></div>

HA Dont feel bad!!! I came home after just 2 weeks in September because Jazz wasnt handling things well at all. I think that is the main reason I needed to be on them so long. But I went only about 6 weeks after Christmas before going back on them again & was on them from then until just before my bday bash in March.

Alot of my issues was viruses with fevers. Fevers kills me & it takes me a long time to bounce back from dehydration, weight loss etc.

OH I also found out I had a vocal cord issue which made it difficult to cough the junk up in the midst of all this.

Damn.....looking at it in print, it sure sounds bad LOL!

Sometimes we cant explain things, but I wish you the best Sweety!

A MEL Hug to you!

Thanks, Mel, but I SHOULD BE SENDING YOU HUGS!!! LOL.

Does anyone else have anything to add with regard to the abx. for 4+ weeks?!? I'm hoping there are more than just Mel and I who have been Rx'd them for more than that, otherwise, it is quite scary that I'm staying on them!!!

thanks,

I've been on Tobra for 4 weeks the past 2 times I've had to do IV antibiotics. No problems so far, they also check all my liver/kidney functions and I've never had a problem. I'm on IV antibiotics right now for 3 weeks and I go back to the dr on Mon. to see if we need to add another week. I'm also on Merrem, Tobra, and Vanco. Hope this helps- it was pretty disappointing the first time it took longer to knock out the infection than it used to.

You are not alone. Just this April I was going in for my third tuneup and I thought I would bounce right back at my baseline like I did with my second tuneup. Nope, it hit me in the gut because I was on abx. for 4 weeks just like you. I felt I was not getting or feeling better. Then once I got off the abx. it was a day to day on how I was feeling. One day I would feel good and then the next I felt like something was going to start brewing but then it never did. I can say that September and October were finally good months where I was out excersizing 3 to 4 times a week jogging. I just went for a checkup and I am stabilizing at my baseline PFT. Whoo hoo, but then just the next day I got slammed with a yucky sucky cough. I think you feel better soon it just takes a while sometimes to bounce back. But, I will tell you this I try very hard to be compliant with my meds now. It was a great wake up call to reevaluate taking care of myself.
