A faster more efficient nebulizer?

I feel a little silly asking, like as a CF mom I should already know the answer to this, but... our two-year-old is attached to her neb about three hours a day, when we're doing Tobi, Pulmozyme and Albuterol. We have the Pro-neb Ulta II by Pari. Her Tobi is about 45 minutes twice a day, Pulmozyme is about 10 minutes once a day, and albuterol is 15 minutes twice a day. Then add the usual toddler meandering, intolerance, potty breaks, snack breaks etc, and it seems like the poor kid is strapped to the wall all day. And as much as she love Dora the Explorer, I would rather her actually outside exploring! My question is: Are there nebulizers that are faster and still efficient? I would LOVE any advice. Thank you!!! - Elise

Hi there,

That does sound like a Long time to do nebs. Albuterol should NOT take 15 minutes. We have the Pari Pro neb Ultra and it tends to need replacing alot. When our nebs take too long I call Pari and ship them back the old one and they'll ship me a new one and treatments take less time after. Other people have had good luck with Pulmoaid Devilbliss. I have thought about buying one of those instead. My daughter is not on TOBI yet so I'm not sure how long that takes but it sounds like you do need to replace your machine. Good luck.

Something's wrong. We are on everything you are and it only takes about 10 minutes per drug. We use the Pari nebs, the boilable kind.

Don't forget your compressor though. What model are you using? The little battery powered ones take a while.
