advair

I just started advair about a month ago. I'm a little nervous about it because it seems like it would make me more vulnerable to infection. Has anyone been on it for a long period of time? Thanks.

I have been on Advair 250/50 for years.. I have been worried when i have heard that some of the side effects can lead to infection, pneumonia and vision problems. All of which i have had and or have..

When my dr (i went to a new center last year) decided to discontinue the advair to see how i would do, it didnt work to well.. I had a bad asthma exacerbation, which led to a week of IV steriods followed by oral steriods So i gladly went back on it and hope the side effects dont get me

I was, until I started getting thrush all the time. I've since stopped using it (it's been about 4 months). I do notice I need my albuterol more now, but I can't stand having thrush!

I've been on it for a few years now (4 or so). I went on it for exercise induced asthma and had pretty good results with it, but i still have the symptoms to some degree. My Dr. told me recently he is very reluctant to give me the higher dose because of my having cepacia. He mentioned the less you suppress the immune system the better. He also mentioned the dose i am on ( 250/50) is a normal/mid dose and it is not a problem, but a larger dose might be so we are going to stick to this dose. Just make sure to gargle with water after each dose to avoid thrush. I gargle with water twice immediately after inhaling it and have managed to avoid it(thrush).
