Either way, she came on for advice, not preaching. You said something about taking the morning after pill without even knowing if she was pregnant in the first place... that's the point of the morning after pill. You never know for sure if you're pregnant when you take it, it's to prevent a possible pregnancy. I understand there are many adults here trying to become parents, but she has every right to come and ask about her problem without being told she's being insensitive or awful. The morning after pill, though some people see it as very negative, is legal and therefore taking it is her choice.
As a quick example that's a bit extreme and not really related... I heard a story about a girl who was raped, and got a script for the morning after pill. She took it to her pharmacy, and her pharmacist refused to fill it for her, telling her she was a baby killer. This was not only NOT his decision to make, but it was entirely illegal for him to refuse to fill it on any grounds. But he refused because he thought it was "wrong."
I don't know why I wanted to share that except to back up my point basically that it's legal and each individual woman's choice. I understand a lot of people here are trying to have kids and are having a hard time at it. When it comes to having kids myself, it'll have to be adoption or surrogacy or something as I do not have the parts anymore. I fully understand the idea of having trouble conceiving. I think about it regularly, trying to figure out what the best way will be for myself when I'm ready. But there's nothing wrong with coming here and trying to prevent a possible unwanted pregnancy, one that would result in a child that was not planned. She's being responsible instead of waiting until it's too late, or ignoring the problem altogether.
Wow, that turned into quite a rant. I don't think it was even deserved by anyone's responses here. I just started typing and all that junk came out. Heh. Don't anyone take this personally, I'm just running my mouth about my personal opinions on the subject.
