CF is very unpredictable and varies a lot from person to person regardless of which genes you have. I was diagnosed on my 2nd day of life when I had surgery for muconeum ileus. I am now 23 (24 in July) and doing quite well.

i was diagnosed when i was 18 months. they tested me bcuz my younger brother had "failure to thrive" and they thought my mom and dad was neglecting him. then someone suggest they test for CF and he had it, so they decided to test me too. i am now 18 and he is 17. neither one of us has been hospitalized since we were babies, never been on home iv's. but the sad thing is our lung function has started to decrease from the high 90s in the past year. we are both in the low 80s an high 70s now.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I was diagnosed at 4 months cos of failure to gain weight. I'm 28 now and doing ok, I was hardly affected at all as a child and didn't culture pseudo until I was 22 it's been a bit downhill since then. First hospitalised on the day of 9/11.
