Age of Diagnoses and Age now

HI

diagnosed at 8 years old, I am now 49, I was a sick alot at 1 to 8, started meds and treatments
weight picked up, went to Childrens in Washington DC and Charlottsville till I was 16,
Lived a normal life ( what ever normal is ) with no meds or neb treatments until I was almost 30.
I fathered a Son at 27, ( the normal way ) He is now almost 22 and is Cf free.

ccfierro..hey i am also wondering what mutations that you have... it is great to hear of the older CFers!!!!!!!!!!!

Diagnosed at 25...but sweat-tested as "borderline" (in low 40's) 5 times prior to diagnosis.
Only 2 hospitalizations, thus far...ages 31 and 33. I'll be 36 in March. Have 2 sons, no-CF.

I was 2 months old when i was diagnosed. I was born and live in Sydney Australia - i was tested a birth (all babies are screened for CF in NSW) approx 3 weeks after my first testing the hospitasl called my parents and advised that the test results went missing i was required to have another test - it was about 2 weeks after the 2nd test that my parents were advised that i had Cystic fibrosis and i would be lucky to live until i was 10.

My CF is on the mild side (as mild as CF can be) - my first hospitalisation was not until i was 16 yrs old. Since then i had been admitted 4 times.

I am now 22 - married and planning to have a family of my own.
