Allergies?

So I took Andrew in this afternoon and they said it looks like he is quite swollen inside from allergies. So, I am kind of getting psyched about this. Can allergies also be the reason his lung function has dropped? Maybe this will be an easy fix just by putting him back on his zyrtec?!

Thanks everyone for the advice earlier. Now I just have to figure out if this is one issue, or two!

Definitely could be the reason! Hopefully that's all it is. Those darn allergies can cause a bunch of problems. Have the doctor run a Rast blood test on him for different things he could be allergic to (that way he won't have to go through with anything on the skin). Good luck!

Amy a/k/a NoExcuses is a huge advocate of being skin tested for allergies. Many times the blood test shows nothing, but the skin tests confirm something & once on a med for that it improves the CFers overall health.

We go back to clinic in 2 1/2 weeks for another round of pfts to see if his numbers have changed. I will use that opportunity to talk to the doctor about allergy testing. I thought we were in the middle of another exacerbation, but this is wonderful! It might just be allergies! Who knew!!!!????

I guess I'm just not used to the climate down here yet. Andrew didn't usually deal with allergies until May in Michigan. North Carolina is a different story!
