Take your matress pad that you put over the matress and put it in the dryer once a week for 20 minutes if it doesn't need to be washed. The heat kills the dust mites. The dampness of a freezer worries me... I would always use the dryer instead.

You can get higher quality ones that aren't plastic... they're the texture of a sheet.

The one I got today replaces my old one-it was about $120. Its a soft sheet like texture, very nice. I just opened it. My old one was crinkly and annoying. This one was soo worth it. Anyone whos interesting in buying a new one-skip the cheaper $50-70 dollar ones and go right for the expensive sheet type, you'll end up replacing it anyway!
I'm gonna go make my bed!

The freezer is a bad idea. I don't know where you heard that, but it's not a good idea. It may kill the mites, but it's opening up a whole new realm of possibility for bacteria to grow. (Yes, bacteria can grow in the cold)

OMG!
I slept soooo much better last night-huge difference. As soon as this baby is born I am going to bring up allergies with my cf doc. I don't even know what meds they give for that, how theyd treat it, ect but I'm assuming shed test me first and go from there.
