Am I a freak?

Hey there. Nope you aren't a freak. I was diagnosed at 14 too. I'm 18 now, and don't have to take enzymes. I'm "mild" too. I take pulmozyme and do CPT, as well as wear face masks to protect myself from others while in closed spaces. I have never been hospitalized for my CF *knock on wood* and see my doctors every three months, just to check in mainly. There are a lot of older adult CFers in this world now, so you aren't alone. It's wonderful that you're doing well. Keep it up <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I will be 50 in jan. an I too am a fat boy , lol

well I am stocky , before my dx at 8 I was skinny
then I started playing baseball and eating and have
been stocky ever since.
I have lung involvment, no pancreatic involvment.
Hence I weigh 230 pounds and I am 5' 10'' tall.
I also have been lifting weights off and on my whole life.
I am not as active as I once was, and I lost a lung .

No you are not a freak at all. I wasn't diagnosed until march of this year, so i had kind of a mild case up till this last year when everthing fell apart. I'm new to this site also, but everyone seems great and you can get alot of info.

Welcome to the site! No you're not a freak. With CF, every case is different. It's wonderful that you are doing very well.
