Annual visits are utterly exhausting

We just returned from Alyssa's annual visit. She's 4 this year so she won't start PFTs until next year. I have no clue how in the world she is going to have the energy to do them. The visits are so packed with important information and people, I'm just so tired now.

Overall things went well for her. Weight is sluggish, and she has a cough we are hitting with orals -- but all in all it was a helpful and productive visit. Am I the only one who gets absolutely wiped out by it all??

Always wipes me out, too. Our clinic schedules PFT's first...then your appointment. I like it cause your child is fresh. THough it is a far walk to the PFT's so if we are late we are both huffing and puffing even before we get there.

we just had our last week. Spend the whole day in the hospital. Completely wiped out. Last year we had very nasty nuses, so I vowed to never do annual check up again. But this year at least the nurses had some compassion for the 2 yr old who had to go through all of this

Heather,

You are so totally NOT alone! Our normal visit day starts at 6am with getting her meds done, then breakfast and bath before getting dressed to head out the door at 8 or 8:30, depending on appointment time, which is usually at 9:45 or 10am. We usually get back home around 2 or 2:30 after all is done. If she would take a nap when we get home, you'd be making a safe bet if you bet on me taking a nap, too. Unfortunately, she usually sleeps in the car on the way home from clinic, and is wound and ready to go when we get home.
