The Cincinnati CF Foundation chapter has a marathon team and one of the adult patients has run 2 1/2 marathons and the full marathon last May. He did a blog of the experience. The team has an awesome trainer who is in his 70's and he runs the full marathon. Each runner raises $900. A runner can run a relay, 1/2 or full marathon. They plan to reach out to the school systems and start training for walkers if there is an interest. We are planning to have the patients sign up as a hero for the runner who will run in their honor and have their hero's picture on their shirt.<img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">

Well, I've been sticking with the running, and I am going to be running in my first 5k race this saturday. I'm a long ways from marathoning yet, but considering that I couldn't run 5 minutes without getting totally winded 4 months ago, I am absolutely giddy about my progress. I can see myself doing a half maybe in a year or so.

Hi,
That's amazing there are some CF people who can run long distances. I am curious as to how you went from barely being able to run 5 minutes without feeling winded to doing a 5K now. I would love to run, but I can't run for 5 minutes without being drained.

Also, curious as to those who run and how their pfts are.
