Mom to Bridgette,,, I wanted you to know ,I'm not trying to take over your post question. And I'm glad you asked it because it has given me the chance to ask my question that has been driving us crazy........So thankyou very much..

Heather,,
Thankyou so much. And I'm not a big fan about home schooling,,, but I am capable of doing it. I don't feel even that there is any socialization in her school. They have a 15min recess and that is the only time they are aloud to speak to another. I think if we have to just for this year then that is what we are going to have to do,if they are not going to cont. to work with us anymore.

GUESS WHAT,,,,,,,,, HER COUSIN THAT IS JUST A FEW DAYS YOUNGER THAN MAKAILYN HAS BEEN CONFIRMED TODAY WITH THE FLU....SHE IS AT THE HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW WITH 104. TEMP ,A COUGH THAT IS HURTING HER SO BAD, AND SOUNDS WORSE THAN ANY COUGH THAT MAKAILYN HAS EVER HAD......SHE WAS PERFECTLY FINE YESTERDAY. HER MOM IS ONE OF THOSE MOM'S THAT IS A BACTERIAL CLEAN PERSON WITH EVRYTHING!! AND KAYLIE IS SOOOO GOOD AT WASHING HER HANDS AND HAS HER OWN SANITIZER .... AND SHE GOES TO THE SAME SCHOOL MAKAILYN GOES TO...SHE'S IN THE CLASS ACROSS THE HALL..She also has another cousin that goes there..

So this pretty much sums it up on decission making... Her mother has been telling me for weeks that she's been so afraid to send Kaylie because the flu is so bad in the school,,and she was talking about home schooling her a 100 times. There were 3 kids in her class that we know of for sure that have been confirmed with the h1n1.When they went back to school Kaylie kept saying they are coughing terrible. So her mom e-mailed the teacher and asked if she thought they were well enough to be at school,,, and the teacher e-mailed back to her and said, No one is sick in her class (another lie).

Thankyou Liza,,
But here they said by Law they can not Home Bound them ,,,even if they are at high risk,,,,because, THEY MIGHT CATCH SOMETHING...Which is a bunch of crap if your asking me.... They said she has to be having an infection or sick. It's crazy,,,,, this school is unbelivable. Like I said before ,, I have never delt with people like this and it feels like we are living in the Twilight Zone !!!!It is politicle bull_____!!! Sorry for the bad word.....

Our Love to all ,,,,Karla

Karla,
No offense taken at all! I love how it has led to even more questions and some ideas/suggestions! That is why we are all here.
Although Bridgette isn't of school age yet, I did find this online in regards to homeschooling with some special references to Texas. ( http://homeschooling.gomilpita...upport%20Group%20Lists ) It looks like some home school support groups schedule Mom's day out, play dates, large group classes, etc. Maybe there are some near you.

Sorry to be chiming in late on this one but I hadn't seen it before..too much going on. We have it written into Piper's plan that I am notified any time anyone in her classroom has ANY type of respiratory symptom so that I have the option to go pick her up.

As to keeping your child out of school..Piper just got out of the hospital Fri, for the 2nd admission since school started. She's been at school a grand total of 3 weeks since the year started. I've already decided I'm contacting Special Svcs on Monday to see what kind of arrangements can be made to keep her out until spring. Her lung function is only 46% and she's home on O2, I'm just not willing to risk her picking anything else up. We're at the point now that the system works pretty well with me (they know I'll raise all kinds of *&^% if they don't! lol). I suspect she and I will drive ourselves crazy by spring, as it's just the two of us to begin with, but if it keeps her healthier it's completely worth it.
