Aztreonam

I was in the open trial and liked the Aztreonam, but hated the eflow that i had to do it in. It made the mist so dense it made me cough nonstop and i couldnt continue to do it. I look forward to when it gets out on the market so i can alternate it with Tobi (minus the Eflow).
John, i didnt know you were awaiting transplant. I am hoping the Aztreonam helps keep things good for you so you can bump up your health a bit

Glad to hear the Aztreonam is working. I am desperate to get on it b/c I am also getting close to transplant and hoping it well help give me some extra time before I have to get it done. I've also done 2 rounds of IV's so far this year. I can tell things go downhill after I'm off them. Luckily, last time I was on them I was able to bring my FEV1 to 30% with 94% 02 saturation. I've been asking my doctor about getting on the Aztreonam and was told at last clinic that they are supposed to start receiving the med and trial info in a couple weeks. I don't want to wait for FDA approval b/c who knows how long that will take! I already do Colistin ALL the time with my eFlow for maintanance. I'm hoping this new stuff will help keep me from needing IV's as much and from getting sick as much. Would really love it if it boosted my lung function! Doing an extra treatment everyday is worth it if it helps. I will definatley come back to post my experience with it after I start it. Good luck to all those on it!

Have they closed the expanded access program? If I were in the less than 50% range, I would be seeing if I could find a center distributing it as part of the EAP that would be within driving distance www.eapforcf.com. My center's last distribution for the EAP is in December....so I would bet it is coming out before then
