We also have to skip one vest treatment out of the three we do daily. This is once a week when DS has an hour of gymnastics right after school.

Our kids get up early to get their morning breathing treatments done (which means they go to bed earlier, too- like at 8:30). We try to multi-task as much as possible like doing HW or reading at the same time as treatments but it's not always easy. We just make it a point not to over-schedule the kids with extracurricular activities (not easy!!) so they have the time to get things done and relax.

Also, here's a link to my website with some tips I've put up for school issues for us CF parents:

If the link doesn't work, go to: www.HappyHeartFamilies.com; Tips for CF

Here's a list of what's there:
Coping with Bullying and Teasing at School
How to Teach Schoolmates About Medical Conditions: Includes Teaching Tools and
Audio
Letter to Teachers about My Child's Special Needs
A Teacher's Guide to CF
Tips for Negotiating with School Teams

I hope this helps!

My 5yo w/cf just started kindergarten yesterday. She has to be out at the bus stop at 6:50am. I wake up at 5am to get my husband coffee (he's not a morning person and he really needs a head start.) I carry my CFer down at 5:30 and start her vest and pulmozyme. When the tv goes on, that wakes her and my 8yo up. I used to have a terrible time getting the 8yo up but now it's easy. I give the cat his meds, get myself and lunches ready while my husband gets breakfast ready. After 30min treatment, the kids get themselves ready while I get the 2yo dressed (with multiple proddings to the older kids to get them moving again.) We all eat breakfast together then its out to the bus and then to work.

I love hearing all the stories...I would love to see pictures too...I found in the store the other day these Aunt Jamamia Breakfast items that are in the frozen food section, they were packed full of calories, easy to microwave and pretty inexpensive...(it can be a great time saver)

Also one thing I did for work is I would make my breakfasts a few days at a time, I can make pancakes and freeze them and just pull them out as needed.. same thing with turkey bacon etc.. Saves a ton of time.
