Be careful fundraising

I also was thinking that they dont go after bigger foundations and charities b/c there is a much bigger possibility of losing, obviously.

Did anyone notice on the Great Strides brochure this year it says, "Blow CF Away" now instead of "Great Strides Walk to Cure Cystic Fibrosis"???

Maybe the little logo on the front is different every year and I just never noticed b/c I had no reason too, but I swear its always said the "Great Strides Walking for a cure for CF" bit in some form or another...

I posted the link to the article on FB and one of my friends indicated that their CFF chapter has gotten grief for using "Climb for a Cure" and they've been doing that fundraiser for over 30 years.

Just did some searching on this subject and found that it is the precise phrase "for THE cure" (with "the" in lower case of course, just my emphasis on the word). I was curious if they had trademarked "the" or "a" in their phrase.

I'm with y'all though. Posting that article to my Facebook too.

I recently learned of this issue a few weeks back but had gotten caught up with other things in life and had forgotten about it until my friend posted the Huffington Post Article on Facebook (her son has a form of mitochondrial disease) and it resparked my anger all over again for SGK. I first posted this on fb about a week ago and it blew up. I'm glad the word is getting out about this!

The thing is, my Mom and Aunt are both battling breast cancer for the second time so i've always tried to support anything for Breast Cancer Awareness, even with knowing how the funding is so divided through SGK i still donated to that cause. Now, because of their bullying, i will no longer buy a single piece of pink ribbon merchandise or donate a single penny to SGK. It's almost as though they're saying to all other causes that our causes aren't good enough to use the phrase "for the cure" or any variation of it. Just makes me so mad!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0">
