Thanks for all your warm and kind responses...I needed to hear from people who have went through this. My husband wasn't there, and his only response was "Toughen up, we have to get use to this kind of stuff". I was so angry, and upset, but when he got home he saw the bruises and blood marks left on our baby's arms and hand...I think he realized how upset I really was.

Do any of you moms and dads go alone to all your cf clinics withour your spouses..My husband came to our son's first CF and Ped. appointments. I think I'm going to have to get more pushy with getting him involved.

Today was tough..Thanks for your messages..

Thanks,

Sarah

I think my hubby has went to one clinic visit in the last six years. But if he is admitted he takes off work and doesnt leave the hospital till Payton is discharged. He stayed with Pay for 12 days straight last time but as far as check ups I go and my MIL is very helpful she loves going to.

my hubby does shift work and if he is off he takes blake all the other times i go to clinic. generally we cant both go as we have three kids and the other two will be at school or kinder. when blake has been really unwell i have called him at work and said come home. not so much for blake but for me i think you just need someone there sometimes just to back you up. i would definitly ask him to try and come to clinic sometimes or have you got a relative or friend that will come with you. i completely understand that sometimes you need support as well.
i hope that your next clinic is not as 'eventful'.

My husband has only been to two of our appts. I usually go by myself. When possible I try to take grandma, granny, or a friend just to have another pair of ears and sometimes they have questions I haven't thought of. They are also good to have around for company because some of the visits last forever.

I'm so sorry for your experience with the blood work. We have a two stick rule ourselves. It's so hard to watch as your little one is screaming. I keep telling myself that at least Ellie won't remember this when she's older. This helps a little.
