There is a condition called HPOA (hypertrophic pulmonary osteoarthopathy) which was first observed in CF patients nearly 25 years ago. There's another condition that's related to it, that's more of a "flare up" type of arthritis. They call that one "Episodic CF Arthopathy."

For some people it flares up when undergoing treatment with strong antibiotics. I've experienced something similar during a long course (1 month) of antibiotics. My doc treated is as serum sickness and stopped the IVs, and prescribed a short burst (40 mg, tapering down by 5mg) of prednisone to treat the inflammation.

My is an every day thing, it never goes away. Since I turned 30 I think I am falling apart. The last 3 years have been one thing after another. I am just finishing up a month of prednisone, and the lower the dose gets the worse I hurt again. I did the pred. in two 12 day stretches. It helped more the first time I think. Having low lung function is bad enough but all this pain in my back and head is just as bad if not worse.
