Hi Kayla,

There were some great ideas given. However, I had to wait 33 months before receiving mine in 2003. I know your energy level must suck right now, but what I did is lift weights by lying on the floor. Just do 10 minutes at first with 2 to 5 pound weights.

This benefited me so much, it strengthened my muscles around my ribs and I was off of the oxygen and ventilator only 2 hours after my surgery.

I would do this between 8pm & 9pm 5 days a week.

I highly recommend it & you will notice a difference after your surgery. You don't have to push or exert yourself either to get the benefits.

God bless you,

I started my blog whilst waiting for my lungs. www.pinkandsmiley.blogspot.com - a great thing to do as not only did it keep friends and family up to date without me having to talk about it every time I saw them, but I'd express feelings I couldn't say to people's faces; fears dreams hopes and anxieties....it was also a really cathartic thing for me when I got down or stressed by it all.

I also started doing a lot of campaigning as it was my way of feeling less helpless about that horrible 50% statistic we have in the UK (50% of us waiting for lungs die due to the shortage of donors). Live Life Then Give Life, my campaign, is still going strong

Hope you find some stuff to keep yourself busy, I firmly believe keeping your brain active is very important. Good luck and hope your call comes soon!
