Bruising & Muscle Twitching

I can't help you with the brusing thing, but as for twitching. I do sometimes, but not as much as I used to.
This is going to sound totally off the wall, but someone mentioned that I get my thyroid levels checked years ago when I complained of frequent twitching.
Of course the doctor said he thought there was no coorelation at all, but said it couldn't hurt to check my thyroid levels. They were off & I've been on synthroid since. It could have been a huge coincidence, but I thought I'd throw my 2cents in.

Thanks for the replies. My doctor ordered a Basic Melabolic Panel and Magnesium check. It's only been a few days, so I'm sure the results arent back yet. I will call them Friday and ask if I havent heard from them. At least I know I'm not alone and some freak of nature <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I always get my levels checked at Duke once a year. I know they do a Vit E level check, and I am assuming a Vit K as well since they prescribed it to me. They have never said anything to me about it. So I guess they are good. But I think when I go on Thursday I will ask to make sure.

I have always had a tingling in my legs and arms, I was told it was part of the fibromyalgia that I have. Also part of Fibromyalgia is unable to get into the REM cycle of sleep. I always wake up tired because I dont get restful sleep. This has been the case way before my lungs began deterriating more. However, I have had a resent issue with my health (collasped lung back in April) and I am still recovering from it. Maybe it is related to that. The twitching wasnt as big of a problem before that happening. Bruising on the other hand has always been an issue. I do not do IVs a lot, at least not in recent years, I did back in high school.

I had my thyriod checked a few years ago and they were fine. But things change so if my levels come back as normal I will ask about that. Thanks Lynda for the idea. I havent thought of that.

To my knowledge I am not diabetic but I am prone to my sugar dropping and bottoming out (last week it got down to 55, I had eaten about an hour or so before it happened). Duke Adult center has never done a glucose tolerance test on me and I've been there since 21. Last test I had I was about 19 or so and it came out ok. Maybe I should look into that as well.

I will make a list of things to ask about on Thursday. Thanks again everyone.

It seems that even if we CF'rs who don't have CFRD, seem to have sugar levels that would drop-off abruptly!

Uli-that's a mighty fantastic photo of you on the ocean with the sunset...ever consider puting in some competition?!
