Ok, here is how I see it. This is pathetic and extremely childish. Julie posted how she felt about the way she was treated on this 'other' site. Then people from that site come over and argue, then people from here argue, and I think the whole thing, while entertaining at first, has escalated into something..well..stupid! What is the point people?????!!!!!

you guys seriously need to invest in some smaller fuel efficient cars! i can fill my corolla up for 30 AUD. thats like 23 USD. it runs on the smell of an oily rag i tell you. sure its not tough looking and doesnt accelerate fast but it saves alot of $. on the other hand my brothers car, a holden commodore, takes about 50/60 AUD to fill up and it chews up petrol like there is no tomorrow.

From what I understand, people in the US are now paying approx the same as us here in Australia. I am a little conflicted about petrol prices. When Im in the US I usually feel guilty about how cheap the fuel is. Given that cars do so much damage, part of me feels that the petrol should be priced accodingly. However, I know how car dependant the US is. I am concerend and a little horrified about the trend towards bigger cars here in Australia also. While we are nowhere near the US, it's getting closer. Perhaps higher fuel will force people to be a little more environmentally consicious.

I have been living in the netherlands for the past year and a half and they have the most expensive petrol in the world. The government has actually banned big SUVs and Hummers etc.

Does anyone remember... um, I think it was in Europe somewhere, but people were running their cars on fryer oil or something like that. i remember it was something really weird. =-) Anyway, I think it was illegal for them to do that for some reason, but I still thought it was a pretty cool idea! Although, I guess it would ruin the engine pretty quickly. =-)

i agree with shamrock. yeah yeah, dont like the posts= dont read the posts, i know Julie, but wouldn't it be a little better for everyone's health if we you didn't get all riled up about every teeny tiny little statement, and furiously type away on a computer because of it, all to no real avail?

THis is my post, if you have a problem with it, too bad, don't read and don't post. The real avil is that it is making me feel better about the situation. That's enough for me. Others also seem to be able to vent their feelings/frustrations regarding this topic or something similar. Talking (or typing in this case) is therapy. I'm sorry you don't like it, but that's not my problem.

Actually, Im not offended at all, I was just giving my opinion on the whole situation. I have to disagree with you Julie when you say "this is my post". Its not *your* post, this is an open forum. I think the whole back-forth argument is juvinile and petty. Fair enough JUlie, you were treated badly on the other site, but when I say this is all childish Im referring to the people from that site coming over and picking arguments and the fact that people on this site fight back.

Well Im glad that this has been put in the 'off-topic' section, is all I can say.

"Julie, I will say this. Whether your opinion is right or wrong in the eyes of our society kudos to you for speaking your mind...no matter what, that is right!"

Rock the hell on! I fully agree with what Luke said. If others don't like it, too bad. If everyone agreed, the world would be more boring than math class. Whether you like her opinion or not, she's certainly still entitled to it.

Wow I'm glad I found this site for one. Even if it was because of CF2Chat and the fact that I deleted a big discussion over there. Anyway, everyone is entitled to his/her opinions and I won't even state mine right now. I will say, that I deleted the discussion b/c site rules were broken and I saw fit to deleting it. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone. I am just thankful that through that whole process, I was directed to this site. I have spent a good 45 mins on the adult forum and have found it very interesting. I think someone mentioned this site long ago, but I never took the time to seek it out. Glad I did this time. Anyway, continue with your discussion... I will probably spend the next 6 hours on this site. I have found many interesting topics to keep me busy for awhile.

just wanted to say thank you to the administrator for moving the topic where it belongs and also removing personal information that shouldnt have ever been posted here to begin with.

Shamrock, you and I don't disagree too often and I see where you are coming from with your last post. Just wanted to clairify that I said what I said because someone came on complaining about why don't we stop the arguing, back and fourth blah blah blah. I don't see the harm in a friendly discussion and a disagreement. And if someone doesn't like it, then don't post and don't read on that particular topic, it's really NOT that complicated. This is everyone's forum, It just that I started this particular topic for a reason and clearly wrote not to read if you are easily offended. I don't see where the disconnect is.

Christy, welcome to the site. I wasn't clear on why the post on the other site was deleted, other than my two sentences were off topic of the purpose of the post, and I can completely understand that one. But after reading what Amanda posted on here and some others from CF2 emailing me privately, I understand there is an issue that has been going on long before I arrived. I was ticked that you deleted it, but I kind of understand what happened-now. Hope you stick around here for a while.

Off topic, fine. As for the personal information... if the guy wanted his privacy more carefully guarded, he shouldn't have been harassing Julie. That was his own stupid move.

the US are paying about 80 cents per gallon cheaper than we would if we used gallons. tell me about aussies wanting bigger cars. every 4th car i see now is a 4wd. and its not the small type either [im ok with those], its the giant landcruiser type. when i see them at the petrol station they are still filling their cars up when ive finished and paid. one time i heard how much one person put in their tank. it was $100!!! i just love hearing peoples excuses though for having them. 'its for the kids'. there are vans and station wagons that have extra seats. 'its so i can look rich and powerful'. get a bmw then. 'i use it to go offroad'. going over a curb in a carpark isnt classed as offroad. 'i go to the beach with it'. wtf?!? i have no problem with people using them for what they were intended for but hardly anyone does.

Julie,
After re-reading the thing, I haven't changed my opinion on the petty back and forth arguing, I still find it annoying. Usually if this happens, like I get annoyed at a topic, I wouldn't bother posting or reading anymore, but yesterday I was *SOOOO* fed up, and I was giving out everywhere and to everyone, so thats why I felt like shouting "SHUT UP" to you all!

But I see, that the arguing will probably continue, so Im just not gonna bother reading this again.

You know, in going back now and reading my response to this discussion, I realize that what I said may have come across the wrong way. I said that I liked this site, b/c I spent hours in the adult section reading posts, and I thought that there was some really good info on this site. I have to say, that even though I have enjoyed this website, this discussion is not something that I condone. I think that this discussion is nothing less than jealous and argumentative behavior. A great guy is being bashed, and I can't understand where all of the hatred comes from. Some people down others so that they themselves can look better, when in fact, it makes the basher look immature and just downright mean. I didn't want anyone reading my post and thinking that I agree with the subject of this discussion. I think that there are people on here that need to give this guy their apology. Just know, that if something like this were to pop up on CF2chat, it would be immediately deleted, because it isn't right. I can't begin to think that people who talk so badly about another person, are even given the right to post here. Oh well, in the end, they are the one's who look like total disrespectful idiots.
Christy

And PS... posting someone's personal info on here, that was only intended to be seen by the recipient of the email is completely pathetic.

Julie, I did not see the thread that caused the drama. I was out of town. The other site you reference is a bit of a trip. It's like High School. There are clicks and if you read the board for any length of time you can pick out the 5-10 popular kids. Some don't post much anymore; not sure what dynamic is going on there. The guy stalking you is definitely one of the ring leaders and can be alittle tedious. Anyway, don't let it bum you out. I've always felt like you are nothing but a rational grownup who is just trying to help and inform.

This just keeps getting funnier and funnier. I always thought that people were "popular" b/c they are well liked. You don't get that way by being mean to others. Just b/c people become close after chatting awhile, doesn't make it cliquish. The word "stalking" was used...was he outside your bedroom window last night. An e-mail = stalking. Wow, that's a new one to me. LMAO The only thing that I see as being "high schoolish" is the gossip started in this post. CF2chat is a wonderful website. I am glad I belong to one that puts people's feelings above anything else. In high school, everyone went around other's backs and made nasty comments about them. Maybe you should rethink your definition of it. Cystic Fibrosis brought everyone together.. and now it's tearing friendships apart. How sad is that?
