OK SO I WILL COLLECTING SS DISABILITY IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, MY QUESTION IS CAN YOU WORK STILL PARTIME IF YOUR ON IT. I HAVE HEARD SEVERAL THINGS, ONE THAT YOU CANT AT ALL...OR THAT YOU CAN BUT YOU CAN NOT MAKE MORE THAN WHAT THE DISABILITY CHECK IS PER MONTH. .. I HAVE CALLED SS DISBILITY BUT I GET A DIFFERENT RESPONSE EACH TIME I CALL.IF ANYONE KNOWS PLEASE REPLY

Of what I know, you can work only a set amount of hours each month. However, you only have like 6 months of probation. Meaning during the 6 months, you can collect SSI + wages without having your SSI garnished. After the 6 months, SSI starts to give you less because you are able to work. God forbid you get overpaid...

For me I had a 9 month trial work period where I could earn anything and not have my SS taken away. After 9 months, you must make no more than 940 dollars a month. It doesn't matter how many hours you work, it matters how much you bring in.
