Steve,

Thanks for the compliment. And thank you for the suggestions. You know I have maintained that the trouble started AFTER the radio was put in and my boyfriend says it was before. But I did notice, that even though I shut off the radio with the remote, a light remains on on the radio. So I now have to turn around towards the passenger side and now shut it off manually which is a pain since the radio is in the well in the back. The other reason that I did it this way... is I love the look of the Corvette dash and couldn't see modifying it with a non stock radio.

But your it seems that with the method you describe, it would surely show the source -- the Corvette Shop, a very cool garage that only does Vette's didn't want to bother -- they couldn't say how much it would cost, so I gave up. My boyfriend is very handy, but I'd have to convince him on his days off to try to fix my car instead of relax and watch Rugby. So that's how this whole battery disconnection routine started.

Robert,

First, I don't see any damage on the truck -- it just looked like something I would have been thrilled with for my first car -- or even now I'd like it.

And you are right, my car has electric everything. After a few years, the power antenna went and a little stub is left. Very expensive to fix and didn't seem worth it. Everything on this car is ridiculously expensive. But I LOVE it. I don't use it that often and people would always tell me to sell it. Never.
You are right about testing it. Maybe I'll buy the tester, go to a parking lot, open the hood and stare into it. Then wait for someone to say, "Having trouble?"
