OK, Andee....I'm not sure if I remember the '79 Cressida. There must not have been many around, or my half-heimers is just being active right now.

I like Robert's truck too (or pick-up, if you're from the north)

I'll stay out of the van conversation and no advice for Nightwriter, sorry, but I do hope you can figure it out!

While we're going down memory lane...I learned to drive in a 1962 Chevy, 3 on the tree. We never had cars that were newer than 15-20 years old--not sure why? I suppose because we were in the "have nots" group too! It makes for some neat HS memories, though. Our "nice" car, a 60? Pontiac Star Chief, was a lot of fun---it looked like a mafia car! lol

Thanks Fred,

I will relay all your info to my boyfriend. I love muscle cars, but I have no idea how they work. I hope that doesn't make me any less cool.

My actual first car was a Red Chevette. My dad always called it my little red tomato can. LOL! The floor boards were rusted out so we had a piece of plywood down. I did get a brand new 1985 Escort for my 2nd car when I was 19. Thought would be safer since I just had a baby. LOL!

Hey;

Nightwriter you always have "good stuff" (information) and now a great question. You and your BF can trouble shoot the problem. Something is going to ground in the car meaning one of the electrical parts is defective in that the positive wire is staying connected after the device is shut off. The first question is how is the non stock radio connected. If the radio is not connected to a power source that does on turn off when the ignition is off the radio will continue to draw power even though it looks off. So turn the car off and take the positive wire feeding the radio and use a probe light (12 volt about $5.00 at pep boys) and stick (with the point) the feed wire and then the clip to ground (any metal body part connected to the frame / engine). If the light lights the feed to the radio live and drawing from the battery. Yea the radio is off and the car is off but the new radios are not on off switches so its drawing energy / electrons out of you battery. If its not the radio each device in the car will need to be checked including the ignition switch. If ya want PM me we can talk.

Best Regards, Steven
