Jodi,

My daughter turned 6 in June and I was having the same issues with her. I did the limit of fluids and the getting up at night along with the night time pull ups and nothing seemed to work. I went to my doctors and asked the same questions and they told me it had nothing to do with her CF. It was a power struggle. I went to my peds doctor and asked the same questions and she told me that it is a sign of an immature bladder and with time it will develope. If it goes past 8 then we need to do something about it. I talked to my Mom and I am one of three children (myself no-cf and 2 brothers no-cf) and my brothers had a hard time at night. She told me that boys take a little longer to train at night. I also remember my best friends two boys (non-CF)had problems at night as well. Her oldest was almost 8 before he finally stopped. My daughter (Madi) started within the last 4 months being dry at night. I am not getting her up anymore and she is dry in the morning. I think it just finally got to her that she needs to control it. I am having a problem with her during the day now. I think she gets into whatever she is doing and forgets. She is not fully wetting her pants but more like damp. She is going through 5 pairs or more a day. So I have traded one problem for another it seems. With her drinking so much ths summer, that maybe the issue. I have her tested every three months when we go in for her check up. I can say with experience with diabetes you may want to check that out. With me being diabetic I am always thinking about it. When I was pg with her that was my main concern that she would be born with diabetes not that she would have CF. I am diabetic and peeing and drinking alot is a sign I am out of control. Good luck!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'd get him checked by a urologist. I don't see how a doctor can assume his bedwetting is behavioral without making sure everything is working properly with his tubes. Your son could have an overactive bladder, a bladder that doesn't hold much, or a bladder that doesn't empty completely. My son see's a urologist for frequent urination (not cf related). He had surgery last year to widen his uretha (it was too narrow causing his bladder to not empty fully). We just started having issues again. We feel it is behavioral now, BUT the urologist has to run a few tests just to confirm.
Good luck!

This may make things worse to know, but my son is 14 3/4 and still wets the bed. We have tried everything and nothing works. We were told that this is normal until they are 18 and then a small percentage will always wet the bed. It is much worse when he is on IV's verses not on IV's, but even off IV"s he may get 1 or 2 dry nights if he is lucky.
The one thing that has kind of helpd, or at least lessened the amount some is eliminating caffiene.

I didn't read all the posts but from what we were told, this is a common issue with CF.
