I agree with Sue that complaints should be taken up privately. It's frustrating that the unspoken rule of the schoolyard (i.e. "never say anything unless you're sure that everyone agrees with you") is rampantly applied around here.

Some people benefit from a no-holds barred approach, others take it personally. Some need to be validated at every turn, and others need straight talk that cuts through the baloney (or bologna, if you prefer). Personally, if I feel I need a certain degree of sympathy/empathy, I send a direct email or PM to a person or two I know will come alongside me and validate my point of view.

The contacts I have made through this site, for that very purpose, make my experience on cysticfibrosis.com a good one.

This place is no different to anywhere we interact with others. It has immaturity and it has 'over-maturity' but fortunately it has a excellent majority of inbetween.

oh I can't believe I am getting in on this, but I have to. Yes there were in my opinion some harsh comments being made when jada came in about the money. They started laughing when she said the money was stolen from one of the girls that was being raised for c.f. Then they said yeah probably being used for drug or prostitutes. I htought it was really sad and even asked somebody I can't remenber who exactly, if they could understand why she is so upset. They commented back thatyeah, but things happen and go on. there was not any compassion for her at all. She spent the whole day trying to raise money for us c.f -ers. A simple, I am sorry. Maybe a little understanding, woulkd have gone over much better, I think.
