Productive coughing is good--need to get that junk up! I would just watch his sputum (to see any changes in volume, color, consistency, etc....I know that sound gross, but it is the realities of it I suppose).

I hope he starts feeling better!

i just started tobi today for a few weeks, probably going to start the one month on/one off regime which i've been trying to avoid for a while but oh well...i usually feel worse before i feel better on tobi. i cough more and my lungs just hurt-don't really know how to describe that better. but then after a few days i start to feel better and my cough is more reasonable. as lisa said its good to get that stuff up and tobi definitely gets things moving around down in there. hope he feels better soon!

There are quite a few CFers who do not tolerate inhaled Tobi. It makes them wheeze and tighten up. You might see if he can do a Tobi treatment at the clinic and have them listen to him afterwards. Just a suggestion. For patients who do not tolerate it, they suggest having tobra mixed for inhalation. It is easier to tolerate and not as strong. It works well for patients. This is what my center has told me. Also, if it continues to be a problem, you might ask about inhaled Collistin instead. Collistin is used instead of Tobi in Europe and many other countries. Hope this helps.
