Cipro and Tobi

DS has been on tobi for awhile and I really have never noticed a cough with it. Sometimes he'll get a little hoarse at the beginning and DH who sits with him during his tobi says that HIS throat and nose kinda burn from being around it.

In the past DS really hasn't coughed unless he's coming down with something. He HAS been on tobi when he's gotten an upper respiratory infection and was then put on Cipro. And I always think "how can he be sick, he's practically glowing with all the different meds he's on..."

I honestly despise Tobi. It make me choke and gag, my lungs and throat burn when I'm on it, and I cough much more. Now, that being said, it actually really works for me lol. It's one thing my bugs are still sensitive to, and it really does make me feel better in the long run. I agree about watching his sputum and what not, making sure it really is just a cough due to being somewhat sensitive to the Tobi. As long as he's breathing well, I'd say if he can tolerate it, it'd be worth sticking with it. It may very well help a lot. I hope he's feeling better soon. Good luck!

I haven't read the other responses yet but for me I get worse before I get better on TOBI. I just finished my month on of TOBI and I take Cipro too. I usually cough up ALOT of green junk the first week and then it starts to clear out. I also get really short of breath the first week too then it subsides after that. I have tried adding my albuterol to my TOBI, as per my drs instructions, the first week and it really helped open me up and I don't get so SOB. I tolerated TOBI very well when I first started 4 years ago but this last year it has been given me problems. I am still sensitive to it and it works for me in the long run so I tolerate it. If it gets really bad then I will tell my dr and switch.
