Considering a move: I need your advice!

Hi Ken,

I moved from Michigan when I was 19, where I grew up, to North Carolina partly on the theory that I always felt better in the summer so why not go somewhere it's warm more of the time. I was definitely healthier the first few years I was here, but I think it was more because I had learned to take better care of myself.

I realize this isn't very helpful in you deciding to move to AZ or not! What I wanted to say was I think that going somewhere temporarily you might not have the same results as living there all the time. Maybe try visiting there for a longer period of time?

Also, as some people mentioned - allergens will be different in different parts of the country. Unfortunately, I don't think this is something you can figure out until you've lived somewhere for a while and your body has had time to adjust.

Lastly, I would think about what dbtoo said because he is a very wise man. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Seriously, don't underestimate the importance of a good clinic...maybe do some research into that before pursuing the move as well.

Good luck!

Thaks everyone for the input so far!!! I really do appreciate it. The whole theory of living by the ocean, which i do, makes sense. But IM sick and tired of the cold weather we have for most of the year. I think the cold makes me sick more, but that could be just me. I have an appt soon with both my ID doc and my CF doc so IM def gonna be asking their opinions too!

rdsx82...have you read the forum on weather and cf? It is very interesting and maybe can give you more insight. I do believe that living in Florida near the ocean (and even the humiity) helps my daughter. She wasn't dx until she was three (and it was right after we moved to England)...she was almost 5 before she was hospitalized for thr first time. Maybe it was because of the warm weather. I grew up in RI and I can't imagine my daughter going through a New England winter! (I can't imagine myself going through one again!) I know that a good clinic and taking care of yourself are important to staying healthy but I feel that a nice warm climate where you get plenty of sunshine and outside time certainly must help!! And ...you can be a Red Sox fan wherever you go!!
