Well as you all know i have an almost 3 year old with CF.. He hasent been in the hospital in about 1 year and 8 months or soo which is AWESOME.. Well we have been having issues lately with sinuses and are going to the ENT tomorrow he has sever pan sinusitis. Well his nose isnt running hardly at all right now but since friday he has developed a nasty junky deep cough.. The CF clinic wants to wait and see if the ENT puts him on antibiotics tomorrow and if they dont the CF doc might do steroids?? Anyone ever had this? Weve never done steroids before.. Im just wondering maybe if we need a cleanout. Hes acting fine and eating fine just a little more tired and the cough. Everytime for about the past 3 months he gets antibiotics for a cough it subsides then comes back afterbeing off the antis for 2 days or so.. His chest x reay at clinic a few weeks ago was minimally changed from the previous.. his previous cx showed MRSA and H Flu. Most recent culture showed Strep Pneumoniae and Staph but they said not MRSA. Sorry kind of a rant and looking for opinions. Thnanks in advance!!

We saw the ENT today they are scheduling surgery for a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy and a sinus washout. Gave him septra for andtibiotic.. I wont waste my time writing anymore since no one has any opinions.. I think maybe its time for a different board?? Thanks

I'm sorry I missed this one. I would have definetely tossed some ideas around with you, but now it looks like you are gone. I never heard of PAN sinusitis, just plain old sinusitis.

If you check back and still want to try this forum, I'll give your problem my best shot.

But in either case, good luck with the surgeries. I hope they give Ashton some relief.

I think sometimes peoples' questions get lost in the shuffle as they move down the board. And sometimes people's health issues are so complex, people don't know where to start to give advice. All it takes is on person to jump in and others will follow.

Lashing out at us isn't going to help. Sorry we missed your thread.

Sinusitus is common with CF. I think I rememeber a long time ago when I was prescribed steroids for sinusitus; I don't remember if they helped or not.

Antibiotics should help.

Are they taking out his tonsils and appendix because they're infected, or are they taking them out just because?
