i took morgan into the doctor two weeks ago for her wellness appointment and because she had been having a snotty nose and little cough. well the dr. gave me polyhist to dry her out. she doesn't have the running nose anymore, but her cough sounds worse. it's one of those dry coughs that just sounds like it hurts.

she isn't running fever and she hasn't been fussy one bit. she coughed a lot last night, but woke up so happy this morning. i think i'm going to bring her in tomorrow if she coughs again tonight. i don't want my sweet pea getting sick.

dustin keeps saying, "she doesn't have cystic fibrosis, does she" he wasn't a carrier, but like in lauren's case her son has atypical cf. i guess we really need to get the ambry full panel done on morgan, so we can rule out everything.

She probably just has a virus. Sometimes in babies and young children viruses can take a long time to fully go away. There isn't anything your doctor can do for a virus so I wouldn't bother taking her to the doc for a dry cough at night and no other symptoms. But that is JMO. Logan has been sick several times and some of them drag out longer than others - and the cough can take the longest to go away.

Here is what I found on the net about the signs of RSV:
# Stuffy nose and nasal flaring
# Deep cough
# Shortness of breath
# Wheezing
# Low-grade fever
# Rapid breathing
# Ear infection

Infants tend to be irritable, listless and may have irregular or less frequent feedings.

I think the main marker for RSV is the difficult breathing part. I'd bet the farm at this point that she doesn't have RSV (nor CF).
