Amelia was sick as a newborn and it lasted 3 weeks. I know how hard it is to see your little one in discomfort, but if she isn't running a fever and seems happy then she is likely ok. You can always call your pediatrician just to be sure you are doing everything you can. I hope she feels better soon.

Haley, There's so much going around lately. I'm sure she's picked something up. Try not to worry....I know easier said than done :)

When they have a respiratory infection when they are this young it's quite dramatic. I was shocked the first time Isaac had a chest cold and how his ribcage rattled. The ped and the cf doc said it was normal and not cf related. Of course, since we knew about his cf we pounded on him 3x/day and gave nebs. They explained it was just mucus in his large airways and since his bone structure is so small you can feel it with your hand. They trained us to know when it's dangerous. Mainly the thing to look for is called retraction. It's when their whole little ribcage or the tissue around the ribs sucks in as they breath in or better said struggle to breath in. Also, if their respiratory rate changes significantly this can be reason for concern. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Was Dustin sequenced through Ambry? As long as he was tested extensively (1000+ mutations) I don't think you all need to worry about her having cf.

hey lauren, hope you are feeling well!

dustin did have the full Ambry Panel done. i think it was 1500 mutations if i'm not mistaken.

her cough has died down, but she still has the runny nose. i think she will be fine. thanks for everyone replying and calming my nerves. it's great to have other moms that have gone through what i'm going through.
