Help. My 5 year old used to take Ultrase MT12 (4 capsules with meals) As a result of FDA problems, he has been switched to Creon DR 24,000 (2 capsules with meals and snacks). He's only been on them one day. This evening, about an hour after he had his inhalers (Xopenex and QVar) as well as his Prevacid Solutab, I mix his Creon with ketchup (acidic) before he had a glass of Ovaltine. He complained that the "ketchup" was burning his mouth. ??? I've mixed his Ultrase with ketchup before without any problem. It's portable (love those little packets you can buy at Sam's Club) and acidic, so I thought it was a great solution for a kid who wouldn't eat applesauce if you promised him the world. What's happening? His reaction was immediate - before I got the second spoonful in him, and I had just mixed it - it hadn't sat for more than 3 or 4 seconds. What do you use to mix your Creon? What do you give the school to mix with Creon? They don't have a fridge in the classroom and I need something they can use!
